August 23 - 30, 2023, a strategic business mission of the Russian regions will be held in the cities of Cairo and Alexandria (Arab Republic of Egypt). The mission is supported by the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly. The event will be attended by representatives of federal and regional export- and import-oriented businesses, scientific and educational sector, deputies, development institutions, public organizations and cultural institutions, in total about 50 people from 7 regions of Russia.
The event is organized by the Development Fund of the Krasnodar Territory. The business mission is also supported by the Embassy and Trade Representation of Russia in Egypt, the Consulate General of Russia in Alexandria, Rossotrudnichestvo, the Agency for Strategic Initiatives, the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Alexandria and the Krasnodar Territory.
The business program includes a presentation of investment and scientific and educational potential, visits to iconic Egyptian enterprises and organizations, a demonstration and tasting pavilion of the Russian Export Center, the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the infrastructure of the key port of Egypt, as well as a series of working meetings with representatives of state authorities of Russia and Egypt.
Mission delegates will present a project to build a safe and accessible system to promote Russian education for Egyptian citizens in the best universities in Russia, including the support for applicants, students and their parents from the moment they decide to study in Russia till they get a diploma, followed by assistance in finding employment at Russian enterprises and in Russian-Egyptian companies in Egypt.
The business program of the mission also provides for holding the International Educational Forum at the Russian House in Alexandria on August 28 - 29, 2023, co-organized by the Kuban State University. Here, Russian universities will present their capabilities, bilateral Russian-Egyptian meetings will be devoted to the topic of scientific, educational, technological and innovative mutually beneficial cooperation, development of youth policy and public diplomacy. The Forum is supported by the Russkiy Mir Foundation.
As part of the Forum, the Association of Russian Designers will hold a show of national and modern clothes, accessories, and will also present a collection of the new Brand ZA.RF.

“According to the results of the preliminary study with the Egyptian colleagues, we can say with confidence about the increased mutual interest in trade and economic cooperation, the development of the agro-industrial sector, technological and industrial equipment and their products, mineral fertilizers, the IT sector, tourism, medical and logistics clusters, promotion of educational programs for schoolchildren and students, as well as increasing the supply of cross-industry products and technologies through parallel imports. To increase trade turnover, scientific, educational and innovative cooperation between Russia and Egypt it is extremely important to work out the procedure for payment interaction for settlements in national currencies.”
Establishing sister city ties between the cities of Alexandria and Krasnodar, as well as the establishment of partnerships between the largest sea and air ports of Egypt and the South of Russia is seen as extremely promising.
At the end of the business mission, the Alexandria Opera will host a solemn gala concert "Russia - Egypt: the music of great cultures" on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the states. The governor of Alexandria, the Russian diplomatic staff in Egypt, representatives of the largest enterprises and organizations of the country are invited to the concert of classical Russian music. The soloists on the stage of the Alexandria Opera House will be very young laureates of leading international music competitions, together with distinguished professionals, representatives of the “Violin Art Workshop” (Moscow), the Sochi and Saratov State Philharmonics.
The joint work of the Russian regions and the Arab Republic of Egypt will contribute to the speedy strengthening of foreign economic activity and humanitarian cooperation.
Recall that on January 29, 2023, within the Days of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly in the Arab Republic of Egypt in Cairo (http://eurasia-assembly.org/ru/news/torzhestvennoe-otkrytie-predstavitel...) the opening of the representative office of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly took place. Dr. Nour Nada has been appointed Head of the Representative Office of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly in the City of Cairo (Egypt).
