Results of the “Summer of Discoveries” Reading Competition held in Tyumen

The summer reading competition “Summer of Discoveries” held in the libraries of the Centralized City Library System, has finished in Tyumen.

For several years, the Co-Chairman of the Literary Council of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly and the Head of the International Friendship Club "EURASIA KIDS" - Ekaterina Volodina - has been the Chairman of the Expert Commission of the competition.

This year, Ekaterina Vladimirovna opened the competition and greeted the children on the start of the “summer journey” with a video message from the venue of the All-Russian Book Fair on Red Square in Moscow:

“Our competition annually brings together thousands of girls and boys united by their love of reading. I wish the participants a great mood, good luck, true friends and new discoveries.”

So, with the help of modern technologies, the opening ceremony of the City Summer Reading Competition dedicated to Pushkin Day in Russia united the main square of the country and the main square of Tyumen - the Square of the 400th Anniversary of the City.

The competition was held in three age categories: 7-9, 10-12, 13-14 years of age. The children were asked to read books and complete creative tasks from the booklet for their age group. Following the booklet-guide, the children read books and completed creative tasks. Throughout the summer, the guys discovered new authors, new formats of events, and of course their own talents. Children participated with great pleasure in creative master classes that took place in the Tyumen Art Space.

A total of 3,013 children took part in the competition. The works of 106 of the most active participants were presented to the Expert Commission. 24 participants became winners and prize-winners.

Natalya Nekrasova, Director of the Centralized Library System of the City of Tyumen, delivering a welcoming speech, noted that the competition becomes more and more popular every year, and the number of participants increases every year.

Oksana Gosteva, Deputy editor of the children's newspaper “Tyumen Neposedy (Fidgets)”, promised that the most striking works will soon be published in the newspaper.

Vera Barmina was awarded a special honorary prize from the International Friendship Club “EURASIA KIDS”.

The competition is over, but literary discoveries continue!
