September 8 marks 100 years since the birth of Rasul Gamzatov. Gamzatov became a symbol of national dignity and pride of the Dagestan people, a model of high citizenship for the peoples of Eurasia. His works were translated into the languages of the peoples of the Caucasus, the entire USSR and Europe. Rasul Gamzatov himself translated poems by famous poets from Russian into Avar, including Pushkin, Lermontov, Blok, Nekrasov and others.
Events dedicated to the work of the “son of the ancient Avar people” took place throughout September in different parts of the Eurasian continent.
On September 24, 2023, the 100th anniversary of the Hero of Socialist Labor, People's Poet of Dagestan Rasul Gamzatov was brightly and emotionally celebrated in Bishkek. The event was organized by the Council of the Assembly of the People of Kyrgyzstan.
During the Grand opening, the audience was welcomed by the Chairman of the Council of the Assembly of the People of Kyrgyzstan, member of the Supreme Advisory Council of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly Almambet Matubraimov, Head of the group on humanitarian issues and interaction with compatriots of the Russian Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic Ksenia Skachkova, Deputy Head of the Rossotrudnichestvo Representative Office in the Kyrgyz Republic Bair Buvaev, Honored Education Worker of the Kyrgyz Republic Sabiira Chelpakova and Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Assembly of the People of Kyrgyzstan, President of the Public Association “International Association of Karachais “Ata-Jurt”, member of the General Council of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly Zukhra Shidakova.
The residents of the Kyrgyz capital holiday were presented to poetry, music and indescribable Caucasian flavor by People's Writer of the Kyrgyz Republic Asan Dzhakshylykov, People's Artists of the Kyrgyz Republic Salamat Sadykova, Sultan Karimov, Honored Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic Igor Vorontsov, Honored Teacher of the Kyrgyz Republic Fatima Bayramkulova, Ruta-Vedana, Alieva Makh yo Akmalovna, Anastasia Volyk, Vladislav Rudy, Exemplary Folk Ensemble “Shattyk”, Folk vocal and choreographic ensemble “Uchkulan”, Ensemble “Islamey”, Exemplary Folk Ensemble “Smile”, School of Caucasian dances “Assa-Pati”, School of Caucasian dances “Iveria” and Ensemble "CAUCASUS".
