On November 26, 2023, the results of the XXII Eurasian high fashion competition of national costume Ethno-Erato will be summed up with a bright Gala concert. The competition is traditionally held with the support of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly and the Department of National Policy and Interregional Relations of the city of Moscow. And the organizers are the public organization “EurAsia Women’s Forum” and the Moscow House of Nationalities.

For more than two decades, the international competition Ethno-Erato has provided a real opportunity for fashion designers working in different areas of ethnic costume to reach a wide audience. But most importantly, it shows all the beauty and diversity of ethnoculture, the wisdom of folk customs and traditions, revealing the best, calling for harmony and unity.

The goal of Ethno-Erato is to demonstrate to a wide range of the public the unique author's collections of ethnic costumes, their original diversity, combined with the trends of modern ethnic fashion. The main task is to preserve and develop ethnocultural traditions and family values. The project is especially in demand among young people, as it opens up new names and provides an opportunity for talented fashion designers to gain invaluable experience in international cultural cooperation.

In the Ethno-Erato competition, fashion designers will compete in the following categories:

  • "Best Slavic costume"
  • “The best costume of the peoples of the Caucasus”
  • "Best oriental costume"
  • “The best costume of the Finno-Ugric peoples”
  • “The best costume of the peoples of the North, Siberia and the Far East”
  • "Retro national costume"

A special feature of the fashion designer competition in 2023 is that a new nomination has been introduced: “Best Costume of the Peoples of Africa”.

The Competition will also feature works by designers from India, Mongolia, Cameroon, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Belarus, and Kazakhstan. Kazakh fashion designers will present six cities of the country: Astana, Almaty, Karaganda, Aktobe, Taldykorgan, Shymkent.

Traditionally, fashion designers from Russia will actively participate. Designers from 30 regions will present their collections: from Abakan and Tyva to Karachay-Cherkessia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Ingushetia and Chechnya. Thus, Yakutia will bring 9 collections, including from a number of uluses. Khabarovsk Territory will be represented by participants from the village of Nergen. Designers from the village of Palana will come from the Kamchatka Territory, and from the Omsk region of the Novovarshavsky district they will come from the village of Alkul.

Today, the interest in the Ethno-Erato competition is shown both in cities and in rural areas - this is a truly folk festival of masters of ethnic costumes. It is also important that the competition demonstrates a model of interaction between public and government structures, since the participants are designers from ethnocultural public associations of various levels.

The results of the creative competition will be summed up at the Gala Concert on November 26, which will take place in the Great Hall of the Moscow Government on Novy Arbat 36/9.
