MOSCOW. July 5, the International Union of Non-Governmental Organizations "The Eurasian Peoples' Assembly" and the Non-Profit Partnership Cultural Center "My Orthodox Motherland" signed a cooperation agreement online at the headquarters of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly in Moscow. The Non-Profit Partnership Cultural Center "My Orthodox Motherland" conducts extensive educational activities in the areas of spiritual and moral education and the preservation of historical memory. Young people - schoolchildren of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, students, cadets, Suvorovites - are involved in work in the country's archives, in volunteering and project and research activities.

The agreement was signed by Andrey Belyaninov, Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, and Svetlana Sokolovskaya, Director of the Non-Commercial Partnership Cultural Center "My Orthodox Motherland".

“In our work, we cover all of Transnistria. Together with our students, we closely cooperate with the Society of Veterans of the Great Patriotic War. This is a very painstaking work, there is still a lot in the archives that needs to be processed. Next year marks the 80th anniversary of the Iasi-Chisinau operation. We are preparing for an expanded forum and I hope that we will hold it together,” said Svetlana Sokolovskaya.

At the first stage, the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly and the Center for Culture "My Orthodox Motherland" will focus on projects in preserving historical memory. The priority area is work with youth.

“I am very grateful to you. Signing an agreement with you is a great honor for us. One of the tasks that we face is to ensure stability and preserve historical memory,” said Andrey Belyaninov, Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly.

Today, the Media Platform of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly “Network of History” is of great importance. It is the platform where the project “Let's remember everyone by name” is being implemented. It is dedicated to the participants of the Second World War, the collection and study of their biographical data. During the preparation of the International Public Forum dedicated to the preservation of the memory of the Battle of Stalingrad in July 2022, the youth of the Center for Culture "My Orthodox Motherland" found data in the archives of the Transdniestrian Moldovan Republic about the participants who went to the front of the Battle of Stalingrad from the territory of the city of Dubossary.

There are also a few more significant events that the organizations have begun to jointly prepare. They are the International Conference dedicated to evacuation hospitals during the Second World War and, as already mentioned, an expanded Forum dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Iasi-Chisinau operation. The operation is recognized as one of the most successful Soviet operations during the Great Patriotic War, and is one of the "ten Stalinist strikes". It ended with the victory of the Red Army troops, the liberation of the Moldavian SSR and the complete defeat of the southern wing of the German front.
