The Unity of Peoples on the Basis of Spiritual Culture is the Main Leitmotif of the Session of the International Forum for Spiritual Harmony

The session of the International Forum for Spiritual Harmony “Spiritual Harmony as the basis for the socio-cultural integration of the peoples of Eurasia” took place on October 27, 2023 at the headquarters of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly in Moscow. The event took place as part of the III Eurasian Analytical Forum, organized by the Institute of Demographic Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Members of public organizations from Austria, India, Indonesia, Jordan, Poland, Russia, Tajikistan, as well as representatives of the scientific and educational community of Eurasian countries, gathered at a round table and online.

The purpose of the session is to promote the unification of efforts of researchers, analysts and practitioners whose activities are related to the topic of harmony and socio-cultural integration of the peoples of Greater Eurasia; promote strengthening of dialogue and cooperation between science and religion.

Olga Volkova, Chief Researcher of the Department for Research of Socio-Demographic Processes in the EAEU, Institute of Demographic Research, delivered a welcoming speech. She thanked the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly for the close and fruitful cooperation with the institute.

The co-moderator of the session, Irina Polyakova, Head of the Department for Spiritual Culture of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly, spoke about the long-standing tradition of the Day of Spiritual Harmony and read out fragments of the report by Yuri Ageshin, Vice-President of the International Association “Peace through Culture”.

“We broadcast peace to the whole world. We encourage peace between different nations and people,” was the leitmotif of the speeches.

All thematic reports presented at the forum session were devoted to specific events and projects aimed at creating peace; strengthening trust, dialogue and cooperation among the peoples of Eurasia.

Natalya Toots - journalist, publicist, public figure, Editor-in-Chief of Delphis magazine;

Vladimir Nadezhdin - Honored Artist of Russia, President of the Delphis Charitable Foundation;

Dr. Feras Ahmad Hamid Hanandeh - President of Ajlun National University (Jordan);

Dr. Bedjo Santoso - Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Sultan Agung Islamic 

University (Indonesia);

Andrey Romanchuk - Secretary of the Board of the Russian Cultural and Educational Society in Poland;

Dr. Yaser Allaham - Head of the Department of Sustainable Development, member of the "Greater Eurasia - Africa" Committee of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly;

Mary Fisher - member of the Presidium of the World Forum for Spiritual Culture, member of the Council of Elders of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly (India);

Yulia Zhironkina - Director of the Foundation for Promoting the Preservation of the Cultural and Philosophical Traditions of Tibetan Buddhism “Let's Save Tibet”;

Lisbeth Augustat - First Vice-President of the International Association “Peace through Culture. Europe", member of the General Council of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly (Austria);

Inga Koryagina - Head of the International Department of the Higher School of Finance of the Russian G.V. Plekhanov Economic University;

Nadezhda Bikalova, member of the presidium of the International Association “Peace through Culture”.

Session co-moderator Victoria Ledeneva, Chief Researcher at the IDI FNISC RAS, noted the special atmosphere of mutual understanding and support among the event participants and emphasized that it is necessary to study more deeply the issues of interaction between science and religion, strengthening interethnic and interfaith dialogue, mutual respect and peaceful coexistence of peoples.

Igor Shpynov, Head of the Department for the Preservation of Historical Memory of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, adviser to the Alexander Solzhenitsyn House of Russian Abroad, summing up the session, noted the most pressing topics that support the line of unity of peoples based on spiritual culture. The meeting ended with creative performances by the participants.

The session was held in support of the International Action “Day of Spiritual Harmony of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly”.
