First Deputy Secretary General - Head of the General Secretariat of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly Svetlana Smirnova took part in the All-Russian scientific and practical conference "Family: as a source of spiritual, moral and patriotic education in modern Russian society." It is held annually in Yaroslavl by the regional branch of the Assembly of Peoples of Russia.
The purpose of the dialogue platform is to maintain the focus of public attention on the importance of the family as the basic unit of society, to explore the theoretical and practical aspects of raising children in the context of all-Russian patriotism, while turning to moral norms and the cultural and historical heritage of previous generations.
Representatives of the Government of the Yaroslavl region, the mayor's office and municipality of Yaroslavl, the Yaroslavl regional Duma, public associations, scientists and leaders of national and cultural organizations said that family has always been one of the key values for Russians, and for every individual, family is the most significant part of life that determines his destiny. And the event, which is held in the Year of the Family, shows that the preservation of traditional family values is in the very center of attention of both the state and public figures. At the meeting, a number of philosophical and applied issues related to the institution of family in the state were discussed.
As part of her visit to the Yaroslavl region, First Deputy Secretary General - Head of the General Secretariat of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, Svetlana Smirnova, held a number of meetings with the leadership of the region, including the mayor of Yaroslavl, ministers of the regional government and Advisor to the Governor of the Yaroslavl region. Meetings participants discussed issues of interaction between territorial authorities and the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly, in particular, on interuniversity cooperation.
