The Kulakovsky House of Peoples’ Friendship hosted an online meeting “House of Peoples’ Friendship – the Territory of Consent”. The meeting was attended by representatives of houses of friendship from different regions of the country, as well as the Assembly of the Peoples of Russia and the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly, reports YASIA.
The creative cluster “The Territory of Consent” took place in the House of Peoples’ Friendship at the end of 2020. This year, the institution's annual report was held in a different format. During this day more than 12 events were held at six sites.
Minister for Foreign Relations and Peoples' Affairs of the Republic Gavriil Kirillin said that the House of Peoples’ Friendship plays an important role in the activities of national and cultural associations, providing them with all the opportunities and tools for holding cultural events, seminars, conferences, being a unique platform for the dialogue of our cultures peoples.
“Annual creative report of the Kulakovsky House of Peoples’ Friendship is a very good tradition that unites all of us. 2020 became a serious test for all of us, but despite this, it was marked by many significant events in the implementation of the republic's state national policy. We all rejoiced at the achievements of our national-cultural associations and their leaders. A lot of organizational work has been done”, - he said.
Director General of the House of Peoples’ Friendship Antonida Koryakina reported on the activities in 2020. Last year, the House of Peoples’ Friendship fulfilled the state task by 120%, held 236 events covering more than 90 thousand people. 80% of events were held online. The institution employs 25 creative teams, 18 of which are teams of national Diasporas. The House of Peoples' Friendship is cooperating with 37 national and cultural associations.
“The doors of our home, like our hearts, are open to everyone. Let our home become the home of happy people. I am sure that today our House of Peoples’ Friendship is and will be an even greater platform for uniting all patriotic forces of the Republic. It is a real home for all the peoples of our multinational Russia, as well as a bridge that brings us closer to the peoples of other countries”, - she added.
The event was also attended by representatives of the Eurasian Peoples 'Assembly and the Assembly of the peoples of Russia, as well as by compatriots promoting their culture in different parts of the world. Svetlana Smirnova, Head of the General Secretariat of the Eurasian Peoples 'Assembly, Chairman of the Council of the Assembly of the peoples of Russia, noted that public diplomacy promoted by the Kulakovsky House of Peoples’ Friendship is as important as official diplomacy.
“Today we should pay tribute to the leadership of the Republic for supporting the civil society during all these years, for creating conditions for the preservation of ethno cultural linguistic diversity. It is very important, along with official diplomacy, to promote people's diplomacy, because only by communication we can strengthen friendship and cooperation between peoples of different nationalities, religions, no matter where in our planet we are now. I sincerely thank the Kulakovsky House of Peoples’ Friendship and the leadership of the Republic for the invitation”, - she said.
