President of Cuba meets with Member of the Supreme Advisory Council of the Eurasian People’ Assembly

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel held a meeting in Havana with Sergei Glazyev, Member of the Supreme Advisory Council of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly, Minister for Integration and Macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).

"I had a very good meeting at the Palace of the Revolution with Sergei Glazyev, Minister for Integration and Macroeconomics of the EEC, to whom I confirmed the priority of continuing to consolidate relations with this important bloc of countries for Cuba," the Head of state wrote on his social network page.

Earlier, the Government of Cuba and the EEC following a joint meeting in Havana identified the development of industry, agribusiness, tourism and biopharmaceuticals as priority areas of cooperation until 2030. The Commission's delegation continues its work in Cuba, where it had scheduled sectoral meetings with officials and enterprises.

According to Sergey Glazyev, Member of the Supreme Advisory Council of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly, the parties intend to provide enhanced assistance to the expansion of business contacts.

The EEU is an international economic integration organization comprising Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, with observer status for Cuba, Moldova and Uzbekistan.
