On January 31, the film “World Champion” (Russia, 2021) was screened in the Philippines.
The film screening was held as part of the Art Unites project of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly.
Anatoly Karpov, an international grandmaster, 16-time world chess champion, Deputy Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, delivered a welcoming speech to the audience.
The screening of the film in Manila was a great success, several hundred people gathered in the hall to watch the history of the legendary match. Immediately after the show, an official reception was held on behalf of the Moscow Government.
From January 28 to February 3, 2023, a number of business and cultural events are being held in Manila (Philippines) as part of the Days of Cooperation between Moscow and Manila.
Within the program, a business meeting was held with the participation of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Philippines Marat Pavlov and representatives of the cultural and business circles of the Philippines, a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Multilateral Relations and International Economic Relations of the Republic of the Philippines Mr. Carlos Sorreta, a meeting with the Mayor of Manila, Ms. Honey Lacuna, and a number of other events.
