Kazakhstan prepares to host the SCO Public Diplomacy Forum in Astana in 2024

Kazakhstan will establish a Center for Public Diplomacy and hold the SCO Public Diplomacy Forum in Astana in 2024 with the support of the Committee on Good Neighborhood, Friendship and Cooperation of China and the Government of Kazakhstan.

According to the Deputy Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly, Director of the SCO National Center for Public Diplomacy in Russia Stanislav Korolev, who is currently working at the XI Civil Forum on the Consolidation of Society, the establishment of the Center was announced by the President of the “Civil Alliance of Kazakhstan” Banu Nurgazieva on the sidelines of the Forum.

The forum brought together more than 600 participants, including members of Parliament, representatives of state authorities, public institutions, NGOs, diplomatic missions, international organizations, leaders of public diplomacy and the expert community from 12 countries and all regions of Kazakhstan.

As a result of the forum, it is expected that changes and additions will be made to the Concept for the Development of Civil Society in the Republic of Kazakhstan until 2030, also, the adoption of a Nationwide Plan for the implementation of the Concept for the Development of Civil Society in the Republic of Kazakhstan, taking into account the recommendations of the participants of the XI Civil Forum on the consolidation of society to achieve the strategic goal of Kazakhstan - building a Fair State based on an equal partnership between the state, business and civil society.
