Igor Aleksandrovich is also a member of the Public Council at the Representative Office of the Leningrad Region under the Government of the Russian Federation.
“This day for me is always colored by pain, sorrow from losses, but at the same time by faith, joy and happiness from Victory. I am pleased that the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly is taking part in a joint action with the Government of St. Petersburg on the 80th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the siege on January 27, 2024,” - said Igor Shpynov. “This action is a unique gift from the famous Chapel of St. Petersburg to anniversary Memorial Day".
At the center of the online action is a literary and musical composition by the St. Petersburg Chapel. The program is based on songs of the war years and the work of front-line poets performed by soloists, choir and symphony orchestra of the St. Petersburg Capella, under the direction of artistic director, People's Artist of the USSR Vladislav Chernushenko. The composition, which also includes the poetry of Olga Berggolts, was composed by V.A. Chernushenko himself, who was a child of besieged Leningrad.
