Today, the International Union of Non-Governmental Organizations "Eurasian Peoples' Assembly" signed a trilateral Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation with its largest partners - the Autonomous Non-Profit Organization "Russian Quality System" (Roskachestvo) and the International Association of Islamic Business (IAIB).
The documents were signed by the Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly Andrey Belianinov, the Head of Roskachestvo Maxim Protasov and the President of the IAIB Marat Kabaev.
The document outlines the goals of cooperation between organizations: in particular, promoting the development of Russian and international markets for Halal products and other industrial and food products and services. Attention is also paid to the development of the International System of Standardization of Certification and Accreditation and the International Autonomous Territories.
Also, among the goals is to promote the development of economic ties between Islamic countries, attract investors from Islamic countries to Russia, organize support for the production of Halal products and other products in the International Autonomous Territories.
The tripartite Memorandum outlines a decision on cooperation and support for joint actions of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, Roskachestvo and IAIB, expanding the list of services offered to private sector investors and promoting the development of the private sector in the countries of the Asia-Pacific region, the Persian Gulf, Africa, Asia, South America, as well as in Russia and the CIS.
“It is encouraging that Russia, after a long external silence, has strongly turned towards international cooperation with the CIS countries and international economic blocs. The Russian export center has already decided on the financing of some export contracts on the African continent,” noted the leader of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly Andrei Belianinov. “Given that today there is an expansion of work with African states and there are a lot of Islamic states there, we could prepare with you the so-called manuals on the basics of Islamic business and we will have a unique product on the market.”
Speaking about the signing of the trilateral Memorandum, the Head of Roskachestvo Maxim Protasov emphasized: “For a long time we have been dealing with the issues of standardization of the special properties of goods and processes. Therefore, the Halal ecosystem that we are creating with you - now under a joint agreement - should allow us to be confident that halal products, goods and services in our country truly meet all requirements. We must clearly understand that we are honest with our international consumers and clients.
The joint work that will be carried out within the agreement is aimed at creating an effective national Halal ecosystem and involving Islamic businesses in it. The Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly and the Association of Islamic Business are powerful specialists in this field, and we, for our part, will provide the entire infrastructure of our Halal Competence Center, which was established on behalf of the First Deputy Prime Minister in December last year.”
The trilateral Memorandum also defines other areas of cooperation between the partners. Including banking, educational, marketing activities, pharmaceuticals, agribusiness and others.
