The headquarters of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly in Moscow hosted a trilateral meeting between the Head of the organization, Andrei Belyaninov, as well as Assembly experts on project and economic activities with representatives of Glavkosmos JSC, a subsidiary of the “Roscosmos” State Corporation, and the National Space Research and Development Agency of the Republic of Nigeria. They discussed possible options for cooperation in peaceful space.

The Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly outlined two main areas for interaction between the Assembly and Glavkosmos: foreign economic cooperation and the development of an international educational project.

The meeting was organized by the Council on International Economic Activities of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly. According to Co-Chairman of the Council Alexander Ivanov, Nigerian specialists received the opportunity to dialogue with the main space agency of the Russian Federation thanks to the efforts of the Assembly’s experts and the Eurasian Investment Company established by it.

The participants of the international meeting spoke about economic issues with the Head of the Embassy Security Service, Advisor to the Ambassador, representative of the National Space Research and Development Agency of the Republic of Nigeria, Mr. Dada Olawale Olabode. He spoke about proposals for developing cooperation between the Nigerian agency and industrial enterprises, commercial companies and state corporations of the Russian Federation involved in the space industry.

As a result of the negotiations, it was decided to sign a tripartite agreement on cooperation and confidentiality between Glavkosmos JSC, the National Space Research and Development Agency of the Republic of Nigeria and the International Union of Non-Governmental Organizations "Eurasian Peoples' Assembly". The parties expressed their intention to interact on promising programs and science in the space sector, as well as in terms of providing data on geodesy and cartography in agriculture.

Another issue of discussion concerned the development of an international educational project. First Deputy Head of the General Secretariat of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, Director of the ANO "Eurasian Center for Project Initiatives" Natalia Zabolotskikh spoke about the idea of holding an international Olympics for young people related to the theme of space and the creation of an international youth space laboratory:

“We offer long-term cooperation, the result of which could be the creation of an international youth space laboratory on the basis of Roscosmos. The Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly is ready to work to unite young people from different countries and continents around the topic of space, with science and technology at the center.”

“We are confident that against the backdrop of certain difficulties, we need to bring more positive things into the public consciousness,” Andrei Belyaninov emphasized. In turn, Glavkosmos representatives applauded the idea and outlined further steps for cooperation.
