On April 27, 2022, the delegation of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly had a working meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Uzbekistan Oleg Malginov.
The head of the delegation of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly, First Deputy Secretary General – Head of the General Secretariat Svetlana Smirnova, spoke about the main activities of the International Union of non-Governmental Organizations and citizens with an active lifestyle it unites, who share and promote the ideas and values of Eurasian integration, protecting peace, strengthening friendship, harmony, partnership and good neighborliness between peoples.
Svetlana Smirnova informed about the goals and objectives of the delegation's visit to Uzbekistan, noting the worthy results of the "Greater Eurasian Partnership: from People's Trust to the Trust of Economies" platform initiated by the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly. The session was held at the International Industrial Exhibition "INNOPROM: Central Asia". Also she shared about the plans of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly for the near future, including participation in international events in Tashkent and holding Days of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Uzbekistan Oleg Malginov expressed readiness to the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly, noting the need to pay special attention to the unifying power of people's diplomacy and the study of culture, traditions and customs of the peoples of Uzbekistan.
The participants of the meeting were unanimous in their opinion about the relevance of the development of people's diplomacy. Peoples' understanding of each other is possible with acceptance and respect for the values on which their worldview is based.
Public initiatives and mutual interest are indicators of the strength of interaction between peoples.
