As part of a working visit to Uzbekistan, members of the delegation of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly became participants in the International Conference "Vectors of cultural and humanitarian cooperation within the SCO".

At the opening of the International Conference, the First Deputy Secretary General - Head of the General Secretariat of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly Svetlana Smirnova delivered a welcoming speech.

- Today, life clearly makes it obvious that not a single nation, not a single state, not a single person can develop without humanitarian foundations, without meanings and creative goals.

The Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, as an international public institution, considers it its task to build bridges of cooperation, further strengthening in understanding the conscious interaction of peoples.

We see the resolution of the problems that exist in the world in the formation of new interaction protocols that society must form and then broadcast to states.

This is the most important way, because society has a forward-looking consciousness, an idea of its future, remembers centuries of experience and knows what should be laid down in legislation.

We thank the multinational people and the President of Uzbekistan for the brilliantly organized SCO Summit. All over the world watched this event with excitement. And the spirit of the Summit justified many hopes!

It was here that the very unity, good-neighborliness that should remain between peoples living side by side for centuries, on the same land, on the same continent, was demonstrated.

There is a proverb in Russian: "Don't buy a yard, buy a neighbor." This means: choose not a house, but a neighbor. And again: "A close neighbor is better than distant relatives." By following these age-old truths, we can forever remain good neighbors. We will be able to expand the friendly community of peoples in order to be sure that there will never again be hatred, violence, fascism on the Earth.

Let the most humane concepts triumph: mutual understanding, trust, goodwill, faith in the force of unity. Let them be the main ones both in legislation and in politics at the national and international levels.

The common task and responsibility are to convey the codes of friendship to the youth of our countries, says the greeting of the First Deputy Secretary General - Head of the General Secretariat of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly Svetlana Smirnova.

During the International Conference "Vectors of cultural and humanitarian cooperation within the SCO" presentations were made by: UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, Co-Chair of the General Council of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly Alexandra Ochirova; public figure of India, board member of the Institute of Management Lal Bahadur Shastri Adarsh Shastri; National Coordinator of Uzbekistan for SCO Affairs Rakhmatulla Nurimbetov; First Secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Republic of Uzbekistan Medet Rahmetolla; Zheng Wei, Secretary General of the Chinese Committee for Good Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation; Deputy Director of the Kyrgyz Integration Center of the SCO and the Silk Road Nursultan Adenov; leaders of the Houses of Friendship and other representatives of the SCO countries.

The conference participants discussed the results of the Samarkand SCO summit, issues of further expansion of cooperation in the SCO space in the cultural and humanitarian track. Discussed the topics of the relationship between state bodies and civil society institutions to strengthen peace, interethnic harmony, the development of people's and parliamentary diplomacy in modern conditions.
