In this regard, the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly’s activities aimed at supporting international integration and strengthening intercultural dialogue are of particular value for us," - Yevgeny Kuyvashev said.

The Governor noted that last year the city of Sysert was awarded the status of "UNESCO Learning City". The administration of Yekaterinburg supported by the Government of the Sverdlovsk Region, has prepared an application to join the UNESCO Network of Creative Cities. There are 13 UNESCO Clubs in the region.

Recall, exactly 20 years ago, in 2001, UNESCO adopted the Universal Declaration on Cultural Diversity, and a year later the UN General Assembly in its resolution proclaimed May 21 as the World Day of Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development.

Within the events, a meeting of the UNESCO Clubs movement of the Sverdlovsk region and youth activists of the Ural branch of the Russian Association for the Promotion of the United Nations will be held.
