BELGOROD. October 11, Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly, Doctor of Economics, Doctor of Political Sciences. Andrei Belianinov met with students of the Belgorod University of Cooperation, Economics and Law (BUCEP). The meeting was opened by the rector of BUCEP, Doctor of Economics Elena Isaenko; she greeted the participants on behalf of the university teachers and students.
During his speech, Andrei Belianinov spoke about the creation of the Customs Union and the work that was carried out with the heads of customs services of the participating countries.
The Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly explained to students that the Customs Union between Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia, which provides for the creation of a common customs space, began to operate on January 1, 2010. The agreement between the countries includes duty-free trade, identical requirements for product certification, and uniform customs legislation.
On January 1, 2012, the Common Economic Space began to function for these countries. It created the basis for the free movement of not only goods, but also services, capital and labor. Since 1 January 2015, the Eurasian Economic Union has been in force; in addition to Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan also joined it.
Andrei Belianinov also assessed Russia’s trade relations with Turkey, Finland and China and answered in detail students’ questions about Russia’s participation in BRICS, the use of information technology in the work of customs authorities, as well as the possibilities of using artificial intelligence.
At the end of the meeting, BUCEP Rector Elena Isaenko thanked the Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly Andrei Belianinov for communication with students and expertise, and presented memorable gifts with university symbols.
According to the rating agency RAEX-Analytics, the Belgorod University of Cooperation, Economics and Law in 2022 took 2nd position and entered the TOP 5 non-state universities in Russia, maintaining its position in the ranking. Among private educational organizations in Russia, BUCEP is one of the 8 best educational institutions classified as zone 2 (“green zone”) according to the results of the National Aggregate Rating 2023 (a total of 191 private universities participated in the rating).
