An Agreement on Cooperation was signed between the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly and the Committee for Peace and National Accord of Tajikistan

On October 18, 2023, as part of the visit of the delegation of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly to Tajikistan, a Cooperation Agreement was signed with the public organization “Committee for Peace and National Accord of Tajikistan”. The agreement provides for the development of diverse international relations, joint events, exchange of experience, provision of mutual organizational and information support and much more. On the part of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, the agreement was signed by the First Deputy Secretary General - Head of the General Secretariat of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly Svetlana Konstantinovna Smirnova, on the part of the Committee of Peace and National Accord of Tajikistan, the Chairman of the organization Laofat Sharipovna Sharipova.

The Committee for Peace and National Accord of Tajikistan is the successor to the Tajik Soviet Peace Committee, formed in 1950. Over the 73 years of its existence, the Committee has made and is making a great contribution to strengthening peace, national harmony and stability not only in Tajikistan, but also in the Central Asian region.

The members of this public organization are prominent scientists, public figures, cultural and scientific figures, veterans, honored representatives of the creative intelligentsia who take an active part in promoting and agitating the ideas of peace, national harmony, mutual understanding, friendship and solidarity.

The Peace Committee holds conferences, round tables, discussions, peace lessons, and also provides charitable assistance to war and labor veterans, the disabled, the elderly, the poor, and orphans.

For more than 25 years, the Committee has been part of the Public Council, led by the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The Committee is another reliable partner of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly in the Republic of Tajikistan. By joint efforts we can do more for the benefit of peace and harmony between the peoples of the CIS countries and the Eurasian continent.
