205 years since the birth of I. S. Turgenev

TASS will host a press conference dedicated to the 205th anniversary of the birth of the Russian writer, poet, playwright, translator Ivan Sergeevich Turgenev (1818-1883), celebrated on November 9, 2023.

The director of the State Memorial and Natural Museum-Reserve of I. S. Turgenev “Spasskoye-Lutovinovo” Sergei Stupin will talk about the creative heritage of the writer, the influence of his works on domestic and world culture, events for the anniversary and the embodiment of Turgenev’s artistic plans in modern theater and cinema. Director of the State A.S. Pushkin Museum Evgeny Bogatyrev, director of the State Museum of the History of Russian Literature named after V.I. Dahl Dmitry Bak, Head of the department of painting of the second half of the 19th - early 20th centuries of the State Tretyakov Gallery Tatyana Yudenkova, professor of the department of history of Russian literature of the Faculty of Philology of M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University Irina Belyaeva and People's Artist of the Russian Federation, stage director of the play “A Month in the Village” (Maly Theatre) Gleb Podgorodinsky. Igor Shpynov, Head of the Department for the Preservation of Historical Memory, producer of the dramatic concert “Heavenly Call” dedicated to the 205th anniversary of Ivan Turgenev, will take part in the press conference from the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly.

The press conference will be held in person. Entrance is only for media representatives with preliminary accreditation and with a passport and editorial ID.
