
On April 26, 2024, the headquarters of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly hosted a working meeting with representatives of the business community of a number of African countries, in particular Burkina Faso and Cote d’Ivoire.
African representatives announced the establishment in Burkina Faso of an organizing committee of the “First International Russian-African Investment Salon” in this country. Its tentative date has been set as November 2024.
Deputy Chairman of the SIIRA Alliance organizing committee, Idrissa Ouedraogo, presented the project for the implementation of the Salon, especially emphasizing that “the main goal of the Salon is not only to strengthen the strategic partnership between Africa and Russia, but also joint actions of the Russian Federation and the peoples of Africa to create a fair, equal and multipolar peace."
First Deputy Secretary General of the Assembly Vladimir Mantusov and Advisor to the Secretary General of the Assembly Igor Shpynov answered questions from the meeting participants. Natalya Sentebova, assistant to the chairman of the AFROCOM Chamber Committee presented preliminary information on the participation in the project of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The parties agreed to actively exchange more detailed information in order to determine areas of partnership in this complex event, which also became the subject of attention of the senior leadership of Burkina Faso and Russia.
