Creating Happiness. The Eurasian and African Peoples’ Assembly launches a New Action

On March 20, the International Day of Happiness, the Assembly launches a creative contest; its participants will create emblems of happiness relying on traditional symbols, ornaments, colors and materials of their cultures. The Department of Happiness of the Eurasian and African Peoples’ Assembly will make a mosaic of national images of happiness from artists, designers and craftsmen from around the world in the project “Creating Happiness”

“This contest will not just collect author's works of art closely linked to the national heritage and folk art of different countries - it will create bridges between cultures, reminding that happiness is universal and beautiful in its diversity,” - said Marina Volkova, Head of the EAPA Happiness Department.

This flash mob contest is intended to unite craftsmen, designers and creative people from all over the world through the creation of symbols of happiness. The contest will be followed by an exhibition of the participants' works, and the winners in their nominations will receive diplomas and memorable prizes. Emblems of happiness will be spread around the world in the form of postcards of the project “Letters of Happiness”. It is also planned to create a landmark art object - a global mosaic “Peace. Happiness”.

The contest selection will last from March 20 to July 8, 2025.

Emblems made in any size and format are accepted. You can draw them or knit them, mold them from plasticine or generate them with the help of AI. We encourage you to be inspired by folk arts and crafts.

The main thing is that the works must fulfil two important requirements:

1. The author uses traditional symbols, ornaments, colors and materials of his/her own people and / or culture of his/her native country, region.
2. The work should be accompanied by a short essay on the meaning of colors and symbols used in the design.

Rules for participation

1. Send your emblem and accompanying essay to the Assembly email until July 8, 2025 inclusive. In the letter it is obligatory to indicate the theme “Creating Happiness”, the age of the author, as well as the presence or absence of artistic education.
2. Publish the work on your page in social networks with the hashtag #creatinghappiness.
3. Wait for the jury's decision. The results will be announced on July 15, 2025 in social networks, on the website of the Eurasian and African Peoples’ Assembly and on our VKontakte page.

You can also participate in the Action outside the contest: just post a photo of your emblem with the hashtag #creatinghappiness on your page.

The Action is held among three categories of participants (children, adults, masters) in two nominations: “The best drawn emblem” and “The best volume emblem”.
