Press release about the Days of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly in the United Arab Emirates

From March 31 to April 6, 2018, the events of the Days of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly, organized jointly with the support of the Eurasian Academy of TV & Radio, were successfully held in the United Arab Emirates (Ajman, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Dubai, Ras Al Khaimah).

The international delegation of 40 representatives of business circles and public organizations of India, Kazakhstan, Palestine, the United Arab Emirates, Russia and Uzbekistan was headed by Andrey Belyaninov, Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly, chairman of the Management Board of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB).

The events of the Days of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly in the UAE as well as in other countries were held in order to promote increased international cultural, humanitarian and economic cooperation, developing business partnerships, establishment of new business contacts, exchanging experiences among representatives of participating countries, strengthening the organization's peace support mission.

In his interviews, the head of the organization repeatedly stated the need to create an atmosphere of goodwill and solidarity among the peoples of Eurasia in order to establish an everlasting peace.

Andrey Belyaninov, Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly:

- We are ready for interaction in different directions, but we put human relations first. By creating the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly, people unite and want to trust each other irrespective of their nationality and religion (Sharjah, April 3, 2018).

In the course of the visit to the UAE, an arrangement on cooperation and signing an agreement between the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly and the Consultative Council of Sharjah, UAE Government, was reached. Such an arrangement, following the meeting in Sharjah, was reached by Andrey Belyaninov, the Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly, and Mr. Ahmad Said Al Jarwan, the Secretary General of the Government Consultative Council of the Emirate of Sharjah. It was noted that many directions of activities of organizations coincide. This applies especially to the unity of the tasks for achieving peace and harmony among peoples.

Mr. Ahmad Said Al Jarwan, the Secretary General of the Government Consultative Council of the Emirate of Sharjah:

- Sharjah actively develops cultural relations with different countries of the world, confirming its willingness to cooperate in different directions in the field of business, on ecological issues, on establishment of public relations. The government of the emirate gives preference to culture and knowledge in all areas of life (Sharjah, April 3, 2018).

The Ambassador of Russia to the UAE Alexander Efimov met with the international delegation of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly in Abu Dhabi. First Deputy Secretary-General - Head of the General Secretariat Svetlana Smirnova told about the current activities of the non-governmental organization and implementation of the main initiatives. The Russian Ambassador pointed out the applicability and demand of the tasks that the Assembly is implementing. According to the diplomat, such ideas can only be greeted.

Alexander Efimov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the United Arab Emirates:

- The start of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly is impressive, despite the first steps of its activity. Your efforts in such international circumstances are much demanded (Abu Dhabi, April 1, 2018).

Earlier, the Ambassador of Mongolia to Kuwait sent greetings to the participants and guests of the Days of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly in the UAE. He wished successful and efficient work, recalled the general sense of responsibility for the destinies of our countries and peoples.

Zorigtyn Chintushig, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to Kuwait and concurrently to the United Arab Emirates:

- Ensuring the stability and prosperity of our countries is our common and certainly achievable task. We just have to unite our efforts, and the Days of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly in the UAE are another practical step in achieving this goal (Kuwait, March 31).

The Round table “Eurasia: prospects for business cooperation”, one of the main events of the Business Dialogue in countries hosting the Days of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly, took place in Ajman.

Business dialogue in the Eurasian space is a platform for cooperation of business and public organizations, representatives of the scientific, banking and IT spheres, tourism and other sectors. According to the performance plan of the Assembly for 2018, the Business Dialogue will also be organized within the framework of the Days of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly of Turkey, Serbia, Bulgaria and Denmark.

On the sidelines of the Business Dialogue, the meeting of the Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly Andrei Belyaninov, and the head of Mashreqbank Mr. Abdulla Al Ghurair was held. Within the framework of the meeting, the participants exchanged views on the international situation, public relations, development economic and educational sphere in the countries of Eurasia. As a result of the meeting, an agreement on cooperation in the humanitarian and banking spheres was reached.

In Ajman, the members of the international delegation took part in the work of round tables “Experience of effective solutions in the field of forming of interethnic and interconfessional relations” and “On humanitarian cooperation in the Eurasian space”; both events were devoted to the 100th anniversary of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan: Such meetings are a necessary basis for expanding mutual respect and strengthening mutual understanding. At that, in the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly, such a form of interaction as a thematic project has developed. The participants noted that it is the joint project activity that generates interest and builds bridges of mutual understanding among peoples.

At the extended meeting of the Presidium of the General Council of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly, which was held on April 1 in the UAE, new profile councils and projects were approved, certificates were handed to the new members of the Assembly. The meeting was chaired by the Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly Andrei Belyaninov.

The Council for films and video visualization of the cultural and historical space of Eurasia was headed by Valery Ruzin, President of the Eurasian Academy of TV & Radio.

Andrey Krichevsky, the Secretary General of the Confederation of Rightholders' societies of Europe and Asia, became the Chairman of the Council for Digital Economy and Intellectual Property.

The Presidium has approved two new thematic projects under the auspices of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly - the Eurasian Equestrian Sports Festival and the Eurasian competition on Kibatiletika. The project leaders are Diana Al Shaer, Adviser on International Relations of the Palestinian Equestrian Federation and Andrey Davidyuk, Chairman of the Board of the Union “Kibatiletika”.

Based on the applications of the candidates and upon the decision of the Presidium, new members from Russia, Kazakhstan, Germany, Estonia, Uzbekistan, Georgia joined the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly.

A noticeable result of the Days of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly was a series of successful negotiations on sports projects with the UAE. Particular attention was paid to the development of youth sports and the experience exchange through the holding of competitions in jujitsu, fencing and archery.

Administration of the Individual Games, Sharjah, hosted a meeting of the chairman of the Sports Council, Ekaterina Kaznacheeva and the co-chairman of the Sports Council Diana Al Shaer with the head of the Federation Mr. Abdelrahman Sulaiman. Together with colleagues from the UAE, they inspected the sports facilities, held preliminary negotiations about holding the Summer Games Eurasiada-2021 in the new sports complex of Sharjah.

In the office of Her Royal Highness Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein, the meeting of the co-chairman of the co-chairman of the Sports Council Diana Al Shaer with the First Director of the Department of Youth and Sports Aboud Garatli and directors of the office departments took place. Possible options for cooperation on projects, the Eurasian Equestrian Sports Festival - 2020 and Eurasian-2021, were discussed there. The next stage of negotiations is planned for June 2018.

Within the framework of the intercultural dialogue, a special program for visiting the temples of different religions and confessions was organized for members of the delegation.

Participants in the Days of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly visited the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, the Church of St. Philip the Apostle and met the senior priest Archimandrite Alexander. They made excursion along the street of Christian churches in Ras al-Khaimah in the religious complex of Al Jazeera Al Hamra, visited the Louvre museum in Abu Dhabi and the museum of the Arab heritage village.

Since the end of 2017 and to the present day, more than 260 people have become members and guests of the Days of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly in France, India and UAE.

Briefing note

The Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly (the International Union of Non-Governmental Organizations) was established in May 2017 by representatives of 67 countries at a congress in Moscow. The organization focuses on the Eurasian public integration of peoples for the sake of peace and harmony through public diplomacy, expansion and deepening contacts between peoples in addition to the development of political interaction, cultural-ethnic, transport-logistical, trade and financial relations of the countries of Eurasia. Among the priorities is the participation of representatives of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly in the work of the CIS, the UN, UNESCO, EEU, the EU, the SCO, BRICS.

The General Council consists of representatives of 33 countries. The Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly is Andrey Belyaninov. First Deputy Secretary General - Head of the General Secretariat - Svetlana Smirnova. Co-Chairmen of the General Council are Igor Khalevinsky (Russia), Bernard Lohse (France), Dalbir Singh (India).

The Days of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly are an international project which promotes the unification of efforts of governmental and non-governmental organizations in the development of Eurasian integration processes, expanding the peacekeeping mission of the organization, expanding the international cultural, humanitarian and economic cooperation, development of business partnership, establishment of new business contacts, signing agreements and experience exchange between representatives of the countries and organizations participating in the Days of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly.

The Days of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly were held in France (Paris, November 21-24, 2017), in India (New-Delhi, February 26-March 3, 2018), in the UAE (March 31 - April 6, 2018). Until the end of 2018, the Days of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly will be held in Turkey (May 30 - June 4, 2018), in Bulgaria (September 2018), in Serbia (September / October 2018), in Denmark (November 2018). In 2019-2021 the Days of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly are planned to be held in Germany, Austria, Azerbaijan, Israel, Greece, Italy, Vietnam, Kyrgyzstan, France, Serbia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Switzerland.
