A Working Visit of the Delegation of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly to the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)

The visit of the joint delegation of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly and the Assembly of the Peoples of Russia to the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), timed to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the formation of the Yakut Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, has begun. On June 22, the Day of Memory and Sorrow, members of the delegation laid flowers on Victory Square in Yakutsk, the capital of the republic.

On June 23, the Plenary session of the 1st Forum of Yakut compatriots "People's diplomacy - a bridge of friendship and cooperation" took place. Participants of the event from 17 countries were welcomed by the Head of Yakutia Aisen Nikolaev. The guests of honor at the forum were: First Deputy Secretary General - Head of the General Secretariat of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, Chairman of the Council of the Assembly of Peoples of Russia Svetlana Smirnova and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Assembly of Peoples of Russia Nazirjon Abduganiyev.

During the day, working meetings were held between the members of the delegation and the Minister for External Relations and Affairs of the Peoples of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Gavrila Kirillin and Chairman of the Assembly of Peoples of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Alexander Podgolov. The meeting discussed the issues of developing people's diplomacy and cooperation with the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly.
