The Eurasian Peoples' Assembly and CUNEAC prepare to conclude an agreement. At the online meeting, it was decided to focus on the further development of active cooperation through the international volunteer program on sustainable development and Representation to work with countries in Africa and Latin America, as well as southwest Europe, including Spain and Portugal.

On November 25, the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly held an online working meeting with the leaders of the International University Centre for Eastern Europe and Central Asia (CUNEAC, according to the abbreviation in Spanish) at the University of Cadiz, Spain, Dr. Rafael Jiménez Castañeda, Vice-Rector for Internationalization of the University and Andres Santana Arribas, Head CUNEAC centre.

The Eurasian Peoples' Assembly was represented by Svetlana Konstantinovna Smirnova, First Deputy Secretary General - Head of the General Secretariat, Yulia Igorevna Petrova, Deputy Head of the General Secretariat for International Cooperation, Svetlana Sergeevna Tagieva, Head of the Department for Science and Education, Kira Romanovna Kovnat, Head of the Department for Interaction with International Organizations.

The meeting considered and agreed upon the issues of further cooperation development, including:

  • Creation of the International Volunteer Program for Sustainable Development. The University of Cadiz offered its platform for the joint holding of the First Youth Forum on International Volunteering and Sustainable Development with the participation of international partners of both organizations to determine the goals and formulate plans for the volunteer movement;
  • Organization, with the University participation, of the Assembly Days in Cadiz, in order to create successful partnerships and interaction of civil society institutions in the Eurasian space;
  • Opening in Cádiz, with the CUNEAC assistance, of the Assembly Representation to work with countries in Africa and Latin America, as well as in Southwest Europe, including Spain and Portugal.

It should be noted that the geographical position of Cadiz at the intersection of economic, cultural and humanitarian corridors between the continents has largely determined the university's important place in the internationalization of educational programs in Spain and Europe. Also, this city is of particular importance for Russian-Spanish relations, since it was in this city that diplomatic relations were established between the two countries on December 4, 1667.

Opening prospects for cooperation will allow the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly to reach a new level of integration interaction for the implementation of the mission to establish peace and harmony between peoples.

The Eurasian Peoples' Assembly and the University of Cadiz have begun preparing documents and agreements defining further partnership.
