The VII International Arctic Summit "The Arctic: Prospects, Innovations and Development of the Regions" (Arctic Summit-2023) will be held in two cities: Moscow (May 31) and St. Petersburg (June 1-2).

The Summit is dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Northern Sea Route - the national and most important transport artery for the development of the infrastructure of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation, the Russian Chairmanship in the Arctic Council in 2021-2023 and the Day of the Polar Explorer, which is celebrated in Russia annually on May 19 starting from 2013.

In Moscow, the Summit will be held at the Russian University of Transport (RUT(MIIT)) of the Ministry of Transport of Russia, the largest industry university in Russia, which starts its glorious history since 1896.

In St. Petersburg, the Summit will be held at the Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping - the largest transport educational institution in Russia, whose activities are aimed at training highly qualified personnel for the maritime industry.

The summit takes place during the "Decade of Science and Technology" (Decree of the President of the Russian Federation of April 25, 2022). Within the Summit, an exhibition of highly efficient technologies and developments of Russian and foreign companies / organizations - participants of the Summit, an excursion to the Baltic Shipyard and a cultural program are provided.

In order to develop the creative and scientific activity of Russian and foreign students and graduate students of leading universities, the Summit will host a Research Competition aimed at sustainable development and development of the Arctic. The competition will be held as part of the Year of the Teacher and Mentor in Russia (Decree of the President of the Russian Federation of June 27, 2022).
