TASS: The First Sports Games EURASIADA will be held in Issyk-Kul in Autumn

Athletes from several dozen countries from all over the world will take part in the competition, Andrey Belyaninov said.

NEW DELHI, 20 March. /TASS/. Sports games EURASIADA will be held in autumn on the lake Issyk-Kul in Kyrgyzstan. Andrei Belyaninov, Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, announced to journalists on Monday.

"We have an initiative - EURASIADA. We thought to start it with national, folk sports, but professional sports are already joining them," he said. "We expect to hold the first competitions in Issyk-Kul this year."

According to Andrey Belyaninov, several dozen countries from all over the world, including Serbia and Bulgaria, will take part in EURASIADA.

Belyaninov said that the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly suggested that the athletes who will take part in the competitions organize the Eurasian Trade Union of Professional Athletes. Within this union they will themselves decide their fate, social protection, and determine directions. "When they say that sport should be out of politics, it should be so in reality," the Secretary General of the organization emphasized.

The Eurasian Peoples' Assembly is an international union of non-governmental organizations that promotes the ideas and values of Eurasian integration, protection of peace, strengthening friendship, harmony, partnership and good neighborliness among peoples. It was created as an instrument of public diplomacy to enhance its role in the formation of a multipolar world.

On Monday, the Days of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly opened in the Indian capital. They will last until March 26.
