Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples 'Assembly took part in the XII International IT Forum with the participation of the BRICS and SCO countries in Khanty-Mansiysk, TASS, the partner of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly reports.

TASS, June 17. The creation of a Eurasian Information Platform at the present time would be "highly desirable". Andrey Belyaninov, Secretary General of the International Union of Non-Governmental Organizations "Eurasian Peoples' Assembly", told TASS on the side-lines of the XII International IT Forum with the participation of the BRICS and SCO countries.

"The Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, rather intuitively than purposefully, came to the conclusion that it would be highly desirable to create a Eurasian Information Platform, which, firstly, would not only facilitate communication between people of different continents, countries and languages, but would also help to avoid external editing when thoughts, expressed via videoconferencing, can be perverted exactly the opposite. After all, we are talking about information security. Therefore, it is very interesting for us to be here, and this, in our opinion, is not a priority only for the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, but also for all those present at the Forum," - he said.

Speaking about the Eurasian International Platform in a practical way, Belyaninov noted that for its appearance at the current stage, it is necessary to form a technical task to a large extent. "It is important to formulate exactly what we want of it. <...>. Many people must communicate at the same time. It is necessary to structure communication, topics, regions. Probably, this pre-project and design work will take a lot of time, but it is needed," - Belyaninov said, adding that he will announce forecasts on terms, resources and participants at the Forum in his report "Digital sovereignty and prospects for international cooperation in the context of the 4th industrial revolution." Nevertheless, the interlocutor outlined one of the theses of the report: "We (the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly – TASS’s note) have projects that can be commercialized, primarily projects in humanitarian areas. The Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and mass communications of the Russian Federation, the Roscongress Foundation supports our activity, many thanks to them. We create a separate organization for the work on this topic. <...>. Recently we held a Forum on Food Safety; there were participants from all over the world. So, the problem of clear water is not enough loudly discussed, but, probably, they will scream soon. We need to work proactively," - added the interlocutor.

In an interview with TASS, Belyaninov also noted that the quality of simultaneous translation is extremely important at international forums. "Poor-quality simultaneous translation loses up to 40% of what is happening, especially now. This may not be so topical, but this is one of the main tasks for international forums. This is also a security issue - an incorrect translation can provoke an international conflict," - the source said.
