Svetlana Smirnova spoke at a Scientific and Practical Conference on Patriotic Education

On 20 April the First Deputy Secretary General - Head of the General Secretariat of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly, Svetlana Smirnova, took part as a speaker in the scientific and practical conference "Patriotic Education through the Preservation of Family Memory: Traditions and Innovations" at the Astrakhan State University named after V.N. Tatishchev.

The event included a panel discussion "Mission Patriot: education, mentoring and enlightenment in the formation of personality".

Konstantin Markelov, Rector of Astrakhan State University named after V.N. Tatishchev, made a welcoming speech. The discussion was moderated by Evgeniy Szyonov, Research Director of the Expert Analytical Centre "Science and Education Policy", Chairman of the Expert Council on Lifelong Learning of the State Duma of the Russian Federation.

The focus was on patriotic education of young people; also the forms and methods of patriotism formation were discussed.
