Start of the International Project "Eternal Dostoevsky" | February 17, 2022

On February 17, the International Project "Eternal Dostoevsky" starts in Astrakhan. Schoolchildren, students and teachers from the CIS countries and far abroad are invited to a series of events dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the great writer. The Center for International Studies "Caspian-Eurasia", the partner of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, and the Astrakhan Regional Scientific Library after N.K. Krupskaya are authors and organizers of the project. The project is supported by the Government of the Astrakhan Region and the Presidential Grants Foundation.

According to the organizers, the goal of the grant project is to preserve the linguistic and cultural environment in the Russian-speaking space in the CIS countries and far abroad, as well as to support interest in studying the Russian language and literature abroad. The project will create a single socio-cultural space within the framework of an international educational platform for students, high school students and teachers from the CIS countries and far abroad. In addition, "Eternal Dostoevsky" will contribute to the development and strengthening of international cooperation, as well as the interaction of organizations of compatriots abroad.

The project has the following stages of implementation:

  • February 17 - online Lecture Hall "Dostoevsky in the XXI century: we read, study, reflect" for teachers of literature and Russian as a foreign language from the CIS countries and far abroad, as well as teachers of Russian for compatriots living in the CIS countries and far abroad;
  • February 17 - presentation of an essay contest for schoolchildren and students - compatriots living abroad, as well as foreign schoolchildren and students studying the Russian language and interested in Russian culture;
  • March 3 - literary online lesson-dialogue "Crime and Punishment" by F. M. Dostoevsky - a living classic" for schoolchildren and students - compatriots living abroad, as well as foreign schoolchildren and students studying the Russian language and interested in Russian culture;
  • February 21 - March 30 - an essay contest for schoolchildren and students - compatriots living abroad, as well as foreign schoolchildren and students studying the Russian language and interested in Russian culture;
  • April 26 - Literary online relay race "Reading Dostoevsky".

On February 17, the first event within the project will take place - the online Lecture Hall "Dostoevsky in the 21st century: we read, study, reflect" for teachers of literature and Russian as a foreign language from the CIS countries and far abroad, as well as teachers of Russian for compatriots living in countries CIS and far abroad.
