TSKHINVAL, November 23 - Sputnik. President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev held a meeting with a delegation of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly headed by leader Andrey Belyaninov.
The reception was attended by Russian Ambassador to South Ossetia Marat Kulakhmetov, Prime Minister Konstantin Dzhussoev, Head of the Customs Committee Murat Tskhovrebov and other officials.
"We are happy to welcome you to South Ossetia and look forward to close cooperation. It is symbolic that the delegation's visit fell on a significant date celebrated in the republic - the Day of Courage and National Unity," - Gagloev said.
The head of state expressed hope for beneficial cooperation with organizations whose activities are aimed at peace and creation. He noted that the republic is ready to support any ideas and undertakings.
The head of the customs service, Murat Tskhovrebov, "will represent the organization in South Ossetia and supervise its activities," - Gagloev added.
The delegation of the Assembly included representatives of the Ossetian nationality, this was also positively noted by the President.
Andrey Belyaninov, Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, thanked the Head of state for the warm welcome.
He added that the organization is aimed at serious cooperation and active work.
"Our Assembly unites society outside of politics. We are committed to serious work, and our mission will be of a humanitarian nature. And the fact that you noticed that there are many residents of Ossetian nationality in our organization is not on purpose, just Ossetians are people with an active civic position," - Belyaninov noted.
At the end of the meeting, Alan Gagloev noted Russia's incredible assistance in building a peaceful life in South Ossetia. The President stressed that he is always ready to cooperate with representatives of the Russian Federation.
