BISHKEK, April 14 - Sputnik. April 15 to April 22, students of the Bishkek school-gymnasium No. 24 part-time members of the International Research Search Group of the 40th Separate Rifle Brigade will visit Volokolamsk and Moscow, said Akak Bekmurzaeva, head of the search group, history teacher of School No. 24.

They will present a project to perpetuate the memory of the soldiers of the 40th SRB and restore the true history of the brigade.

The project was launched under the auspices of the Bizdin Zhenish - Our Victory movement in 2021, when a memorandum of twinning was signed between Gymnasium School No. 24 and the Railway Station School of Volokolamsk.

"It is important that within the project dedicated to brotherhood of memory, schoolchildren from Russia, Kyrgyzstan and other countries go from studying military history to communication, and teachers get the opportunity to exchange experiences. The guys, together with experts, search groups, historians, archivists, have done a great job", — stressed the coordinator of the search movement "Bizdin Zhenish - Our Victory" Svetlana Lapteva.

In 1941, during fierce battles near Moscow, it was in the 24th school that the 40th separate rifle brigade was formed. Its soldiers laid down their lives on the battlefields in the Volokolamsk region. Today, schoolchildren from the two countries are searching for and verifying information about the fallen heroes, as well as holding joint events.

"Over the period of the project's existence, lists of the dead and missing soldiers from the 40th SRB were prepared and places of conscription were determined, as well as a huge number of myths were dispelled, inaccurate information was corrected. Last year, the project began to expand," - said the members of the search group.

A rich program awaits the participants of the trip, Bekmurzaeva noted.

"In Volokolamsk, the guys will visit museums, mass graves, the sister city Railway Station School, Ludina Gora, the Volokolamsk Kremlin. There will also be a round table on models of search work. Schoolchildren will lay flowers at memorials related to the perpetuation of the memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War," she said.

In Moscow, schoolchildren will visit several museums, take part in a meeting at the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly. Volokolamsk and Kazakh delegations will also take part in the events.
