As part of the International Business Week, held on December 14-16 in Ufa, a round table "Sport and Business" took place. A round table was organized by the Representative Office of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly in the Republic of Bashkortostan (Russia) and the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
The participants of the event discussed new formats of competitions, and also talked about the importance of mass sports for future victories in professional activities, what sports functionaries should pay attention to. Also, attention was paid to the prospects for public-private partnerships and successful business models in the sports industry, the influence of sports on the formation of moral and patriotic values.
“Sport and sports diplomacy should regain honor and respect,” - said Ilya Lomako, General Director of the ANO “Directorate of Sports, Social Projects and Programs “EURASIADA”, speaking at the round table.
One of the tools of this process should be the holding of the First Eurasian Games in national and non-Olympic sports. The EURASIADA is scheduled for 2025. It has not yet been determined where it will take place, but it is possible that the games will be hosted by several regions at the same time. Several territories have already expressed their desire to hold such significant competitions. Given the status of the event, it is quite possible that the games will be hosted by one of the federal districts.
It is expected that the competition will become large-scale - about eight thousand delegates from 75 countries have submitted preliminary applications.
Ilya Lomako said that the EURASIADA project attracted the attention of a number of African countries.
“We assume that some countries of the African continent will take part in the competition,” - he said, - “at least, interested participants appeared during the negotiations.”
The "round table" recalled that according to an agreement signed at SPIEF-22, next year the competition "Towards the EURASIADA” will be hosted by Ufa. More than a thousand participants of the competitions will measure strength with each other at five sports grounds of the city. The participants of the "round table" talked about what sports can be included in the competition program.
For example, Mikhail Gulyaev, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the State Assembly (Il Tumen) of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) on youth affairs, physical culture and sports, spoke about mas-wrestling, non-contact martial arts. Its rules are very simple: to win, an athlete simply needs to pull the stick out of his hands or pull the opponent. The duel lasts up to two victories of one of the wrestlers in two or three rounds. According to Mikhail Gulyaev, mas-wrestling is gaining popularity and, quite possibly, will be included in the program of the Olympic Games in the future.
