On May 8, the headquarters of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly in Moscow, the Center for Political Analysis and Information Security and the holding “Regions of Russia” supported by the Assembly of Peoples of Russia hosted a round table with the participation of a member of the European Parliament, three retired German officers and representatives of other European countries, who still consider Russia a country-liberator from fascism. On the eve of the celebration of Victory Day, it was especially important to understand that in such a difficult time our country still has friends and like-minded people in Europe.

The round table was held under the slogan "Russia and Europe - how to preserve relations and historical memory?" The moderator of the meeting and the main organizer, who ensured the full-time participation in the event of the German side and representatives from Slovakia, was the director of the Center for Political Analysis and Information Security Svyatoslav Andrianov. He thanked the co-organizers of the event and partners for the opportunity to host such an important international event. Right now, when a special operation for denazification and demilitarization is ongoing in Ukraine, such meetings with former participants in the fight against fascism from Europe are especially important.

In her welcoming speech, the First Deputy Secretary General - Head of the General Secretariat of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, Chairman of the Council of the Assembly of Peoples of Russia Svetlana Smirnova noted that for every sane person, the celebration of May 9 is a symbol of the victory of good over evil, the victory and feat of our soldiers in that great battle.

“I am especially pleased to welcome our European friends today, because it is very important to maintain these good, friendly, partnership relationship not only with Asian countries, but it is very important to maintain these relations with European countries. No matter how someone tries to isolate Russia today, I think that your participation and presence here suggests that there are sane people in European countries who want to live in peace and friendship with Russia,” - Svetlana Smirnova said.

In turn, Olga Chernokoz, co-organizer of the international round table, General Director of the holding "Regions of Russia", said that despite Europe's frank ingratiation to the United States, it is nice to see that historical memory continues to be preserved inside Western countries and direct participants in those events continue to support Russia, seeing also in special operations in Ukraine are the continuation of this bloody struggle against absolute evil - fascism.

“Not everyone likes the dominance of American values, they mourn their self-identity. There is no need for these streams of hatred from our screens and gloating, as everything is also bad with them. Europeans are the victims of propaganda and censorship that we don't even imagine. There is no need to identify the pro-American authorities of the European countries and the whole society. You need to work with him! And there are all possibilities for this!” - says Olga Chernokoz.

Miroslav Radachovski, member of the European Parliament from Slovakia, did not deny the military and economic dependence of Europe on the United States:

“When US policy was different, there were no problems in Europe. It is very difficult for them to understand what relations were between Russia and other countries in Europe. And this is a big problem. It can only be solved through young people so that they understand what history and what kind of relationship we have.”

“Slovakia is a country where many respect the liberators. Unfortunately, the situation has now changed a little, but this happens only between politicians,” - said the member of the European Parliament.

It is worth noting that the father of MEP Miroslav Radachovsky was an anti-fascist and fought on the territory of Russia on the side of the Red Army, not only during World War II, but also after the war actively participated together with his brigade in searching and neutralizing Bandera troops.

The German guests present at the round table also fought against fascism along with Soviet soldiers. For example, the grandfather of retired German lieutenant Thorsten Postrakh was an anti-fascist and took an active part in the resistance against Hitler.

As the retired German Colonel Gerhard Matthes stated in his speech, the special operation showed very clearly what a serious problem there is in Ukraine. And if it is already clear that neo-Nazis are there, the question now is what to do with this problem. In his opinion, now we need to pay special attention to the media in order to resist attempts to whitewash blatant evil, and we need to talk more actively about how everything really is.

“The sooner this special operation is completed, the faster will be the step towards the fight against the phenomena of fascism, which are spreading further to the West. The longer this goes on, the greater the danger that fascism will continue to develop and find its face in new countries,” - said Gerhard Matthes.

Retired German Lieutenant Colonel Siegfried Eichner named the localization of Ukrainian armed forces and equipment in residential areas as blatant wartime crimes. The German was especially struck by Zelensky's decision to hand out weapons to everyone indiscriminately, including criminals.

“It was as if they were told that you can atone for your guilt, but not with your own blood, but with someone else's blood. And then we saw obvious war crimes on camera against the Russian military. I am very angry that Zelensky looks like Hitler in his time, that he wants to do the same with the Ukrainian people, setting tasks for them, neglecting the interests and existence of his population,” - said Siegfried Eichner.

Also participating in the round table dedicated to the celebration of Victory Day were the Secretary of the Slovenian Patriot Party Mikhail Radachovsky, Deputy Chairman of the NGO Daugavpils Branch of the Russian Community of Latvia Dmitry Rybnikov, President of the International Association of Bloggers (IAB) Nazir Evloev and others.

German political scientist Klaus Hartmann suggested looking what is happening as at the whole picture. He suggested not to forget that the United States, as a member of the former anti-Hitler coalition, dropped two nuclear bombs during World War II, and that British Prime Minister Winston Churchill had developed a project even before the war, implying a war against the USSR. He also recalled the resolution of the European Parliament against totalitarianism, frankly formulated in order to discredit the USSR and Russia.

“Now we are returning to that terrible time when the aggressive propaganda against the Slavs was openly conducted. All this must be taken into account,” - added Klaus Hartmann.

He also stressed that it is necessary to diligently preserve historical memory and not forget to take into account the context, realizing that quite specific plans lie behind the rhetoric of European politicians.
