On June 22, on the Day of Memory and Grief, wreaths and flowers were laid at the monuments of the Soviet Army and Military Glory in Sofia and throughout Bulgaria. On the day of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, Bulgarian anti-fascists and partisans came to the defense of the Soviet Union and declared that they considered themselves soldiers of the Red Army. They fought shoulder to shoulder with the Soviet soldiers until the Great Victory.

As part of the International Action of Commemoration of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly, Representatives of the Foundation for Sustainable development of Bulgaria laid flowers at the Mass Grave (Kostnitsa) in Sofia, the monuments of the Soviet Army in Varna and Stare Zagora, as well as at the monument to the Soviet soldier-liberator in Plovdiv ("Alyosha").

Due to restrictive measures related to the pandemic, the time of the flower-laying ceremony at the monuments was not announced. All those wishing to commemorate the heroes came to the monument at different times and laid flowers.
