On April 6, 2021, the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly organized and held the International Round Table “Great Eurasian Partnership. Vietnam's Role in Forming New Strategic Initiatives”.
The roundtable meeting attended by figures of international and economic cooperation between Russia and Vietnam, recognized experts and professionals in establishing bilateral relations, raised important issues regarding the development and deepening of comprehensive and fruitful interaction between the two traditionally close countries.
In particular, the historical roots of mutual support, formed in the Soviet era and laid the foundations for a unique moral and humanitarian cooperation, which can serve as an example for its reproduction in the Eurasian space, were highly appreciated.
They also touched upon the pressing issues of deepening interaction and integration of Vietnam into the economic configuration of the EAEU.
The meeting voiced and supported proposals on the formation of cultural and linguistic centres to maintain ethnic uniqueness and facilitate the assimilation of representatives of the Vietnamese nationality living in Russia.
As a result of the round table, Recommendations were formed. They aim to convey information about the key trends in bilateral relations development to the widest possible circle of participants.
The materials of the round table were translated into 6 languages - Vietnamese, English, Spanish, French, Chinese, Russian, and sent to partners.
Recommendations based on the results of the International Roundtable “Great Eurasian Partnership. Vietnam's Role in Shaping New Strategic Initiatives”
Having noted the relevance, high scientific and social significance of the issues discussed at the event, the participants of the Round Table:
- express a common opinion on the importance of harmonizing projects and initiatives within the idea of "co-development" of the continent's states, developing flexible organizational mechanisms in the face of a shortage of reserves for building up partnerships, promoting multifaceted trade and economic interaction at the level of small and medium-sized businesses, promoting regional integration in the Greater Eurasian space;
- put humanitarian foundations at the fore when shaping the world agenda and establishing new regulations for interaction both between states and between civil society, both within the country and between countries, in solidarity with the fact that morality is the highest unsurpassed and meaningful value of all mankind.
- pay attention to the need to monitor strategic improvisations and the importance of public diplomacy as a basis for maintaining a general atmosphere of partnership and forming an image of rapprochement;
- note and highly appreciate the dynamic development of economic, trade, humanitarian cooperation between Vietnam and countries in Eurasia, the role of the pioneer and outpost of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in creating a free trade zone with the EAEU.
- support the efforts of Vietnam in the formation of new strategic initiatives and in the process of regional integration in the Greater Eurasian space in the name of peace, friendship and mutual understanding between peoples.
