Participants of the project “Caravan of Friendship “Road of Life” visited Abkhazia

From September 27 to October 2, 2020, a delegation of the Representation of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly in the Leningrad region (Russia) visited the Republic of Abkhazia.

The visit took place as part of the Project “Caravan of Friendship “Road of Life”. The project is a part of the International megaproject of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly “VICTORIOUS TOGETHER – for Peace and Creation”.

Meetings were held with veterans, the public and representatives of local self-government of the Gulrypsh District of the Republic of Abkhazia. Issues of further joint public events in Abkhazia and Russia were discussed. The delegation took part in laying flowers at the memorial sites.

The goal of the project “Caravan of Friendship “Road of Life” is peace-making people's diplomacy by establishing contacts between people and organizations of different countries and peoples. Leaders and representatives of national communities and Diasporas living in the Leningrad region and St. Petersburg make coordinated visits. As a result, cooperation agreements are signed with non-governmental organizations of the host countries, roundtable meetings and conferences on interethnic cooperation are organized, commemorative events are held at memorials and other events.
