Panel Discussion of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly at the BRICS+ Platform brought together Participants from 10 Countries of the World

On November 24, in St. Petersburg, at the IV International Municipal Forum of the BRICS+ countries, the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly held a panel discussion “The Greater Eurasian Partnership: Strategic Inter-Municipal Cooperation”.

The platform brought together speakers from 10 countries, including Italy, France, Bulgaria, Egypt, South Ossetia, Belarus, Russia, Bulgaria, India and Jordan.

The participants of the panel discussion were welcomed by the Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly Andrey Belyaninov.

The First Deputy Secretary General - Head of the General Secretariat of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly Svetlana Smirnova, member of the Supreme Advisory Council of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, President of the Foundation for Policy and Governance (India) Dalbir Singh, Deputy Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly Stanislav Korolev, Deputy Secretary General, Head of the Representation of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly in the Leningrad Region (Russia) Yuri Palamarchuk, Mayor of Nizhny Novgorod Yuri Shalabaev, Chairman of the Chelyabinsk City Duma Andrey Schmidt, Chairman of the Grodno City Council Boris Fedorov, First Vice-President of the International Assembly of Capitals and Magor Cities Yuri Mishcheryakov, President of the Avionne Sister City Committee Jean Montegnac, Senator, ex-Minister of Labor of Jordan Catamine M.A. Nydal, Head of the Administration of the Moskovsky District of Minsk Tatyana Kolyadko, Head of the Administration of the City of Tskhinvali Geno Kadzhaev, Deputy Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee Nadezhda Lazarevich and others took part in the panel discussion.

In the address to the participants of the panel discussion, Svetlana Smirnova emphasized the importance of developing inter-municipal cooperation:

“In the modern context, cooperation at the level of regions and municipalities is of particular importance. It is interregional and intermunicipal cooperation that makes it possible to preserve and maintain good neighborly relations and develop international ties.”
