Official Visit of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly Delegation to Al-Azhar University

On January 31, 2023, within the Days of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly in Egypt, an official visit of the delegation of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly to Al-Azhar University (Cairo) took place.

Al-Azhar University President Dr. Muhammad Hussein Mahrasawi welcomed the guests and spoke about the history of the university, which is one of the most famous and prestigious universities in the Islamic world.

The Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly Andrei Belyaninov expressed his gratitude to the leadership of the university for the warm welcome and emphasized that Al-Azhar is an authoritative educational center that spreads the principles of tolerance, patience and mercy.

“Al-Azhar is a real storehouse of knowledge that allows students to confidently walk through life,” said Andrey Belyaninov.

Deputy Secretary General Professor Yulia Petrova expressed admiration and gratitude to Al-Azhar University, which has 30,000 students from more than 105 countries. Yulia Petrova noted that the university makes a significant contribution to the development of education and science.

“The Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly brings together representatives of more than 50 countries, and we are pleased that among our partners there are many representatives of the scientific and educational community, this will allow us to create effective scientific and educational partnerships,” added the Deputy Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of strengthening educational and scientific ties in student exchange, international volunteering, learning the Russian language in the Arab world and teaching Arabic in the countries of Eurasia. Following the meeting, the parties planned to sign an agreement on scientific cooperation between Al-Azhar and the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly.
