New Book from the Series “Weddings of the Peoples of the World: World Cultural Heritage” will be Presented in Russia and Poland

A unique book “Traditional Udmurt Wedding” from the series “Weddings of the Peoples of the World: World Cultural Heritage” is being prepared for publication. Its first presentations will be held in Russia (Izhevsk, Moscow) and in Poland (Warsaw) in the autumn of 2020. This was announced by Denis Knyazev, author and head of the project “Weddings of the Peoples of the World: World Cultural Heritage”.

The book “Traditional Udmurt Wedding” is published under the auspices of the Russian Federation Commission for UNESCO. The book is currently in production by Udmurtia Publishing House and will be published on the 100th anniversary of Udmurtia's statehood in three languages: Russian, English and Udmurt. First of all, the book will be solemnly transferred to the state museums, public libraries and cultural centers of Udmurtia (Russia).

About the Project

“Weddings of the Peoples of the World: World Cultural Heritage” is an international research and ethnographic project established in 2015 to preserve the wedding traditions of the peoples of the world as a monument of international cultural heritage. The project was approved by UNESCO, the ministries of culture of several countries and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. The Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly is the project partner.
