Mutual Development of Peoples is Impossible Without Migration

Today, December 18, the world celebrates International Migrant Day.

It has been celebrated at the suggestion of the UN General Assembly since 2000. On this day in 1990, the UN General Assembly adopted the International Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families.

“Modernity has highlighted the opportunities that migration offers for the mutual development of peoples, consistent improvement of economic and social conditions in countries of origin and destination. Labour migration is a courageous manifestation of the will of an individual to overcome all adversity and achieve a better life”, - the UN website says.

This year's theme for International Migrants Day is Reimagining Human Mobility. In connection with this day, we offer for watching the release of the International educational project of the Eurasian Youth Assembly (EYA) “EYA Lecture Hall”, dedicated to migration processes in Eurasia.
