On September 23-25 Moscow and Ivanovo will host the International Workshop of Houses of Friendship - the final event of the project “International forum of Houses of Friendship EURASIAN BRIDGES OF FRIENDSHIP” of All-Russian public movement “Community of Peoples for Life” (Senezh Forum).
Within the project significant international events took place during the year: the discussion part of the project program have taken place at international forums in Moscow and Udmurt Republic. Also online presentations of ethnocultural organizations of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, as well as an international video bridge on the issue “On the partnership interaction of public associations and authorities in the implementation of joint projects in public diplomacy” have been held.
The participants of the event demonstrated mutual interest in further strengthening cooperation and sharing experience in harmonizing interethnic relations, expanding humanitarian contacts between civil societies of our countries. A number of issues that need to be addressed to joint efforts were identified at the discussion platforms. Within the forum representatives of five countries determined the directions and forms of humanitarian cooperation to promote public diplomacy. In addition, they outlined specific joint projects for implementation. Among them are interstate, interethnic and national holidays, festivals, motor rallies, as well as search work which involves foreign partners and compatriots living abroad for cooperation.
On September 23, within the final International Workshop, the participants
will get acquainted with the activities of the Moscow House of Nationalities, the House of the Peoples of Russia, the ethnic relations Resource Center. The SCO Public Diplomacy Center in Uzbekistan and Russia-Uzbekistan Friendship and Cooperation Society signed a Memorandum on Cooperation.

On September 24, the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation will host the Grand Opening of the Workshop. Representatives of Rossotrudnichestvo, the A.M. Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Support Foundation, Houses of Friendship and ethnocultural associations of five countries, government bodies and diplomatic corps will attend the event. The meeting will consider the aspects of Houses’ of Friendship participation in the processes of public (peoples’) diplomacy as well as an effective mechanism for building confidence, expanding intercultural and interfaith dialogue.

The Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly and the Center for Peoples’ Diplomacy of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Uzbekistan will sign an agreement on cooperation.
On September 25 the Workshop will continue its work in Ivanovo. It will include the International Action “Memory, scorched by war, that we keep”. This Action is a part of the project of the Ivanovo House of Nationalities. It is a series of events to preserve the historical memory of the Great Patriotic war, the memory of the fallen soldiers called up to the Red Army ranks from the former Soviet Republics. There was a large number of military hospitals in Ivanovo where Red Army soldiers were treated. Some of them died and were buried in the region. Ivanovo has organized care of the graves and a search for relatives of the dead soldiers in Kazakhstan.
Russian and foreign participants of the workshop will lay wreaths at the graves of soldiers dead during the Great Patriotic war.
A round table meeting “Modern practices of Houses of Friendships and ethnocultural associations for the development of public diplomacy and international cultural cooperation” will end the International project “EURASIAN BRIDGES OF FRINDSHIP”.
