International Round Table “Sport Unites Nations. Towards EURASIADA" in Delhi – Outcomes

On March 21, 2023, as part of the Days of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly, the Republic of India hosted the International Round Table “Sport Unites Peoples. Towards EURASIAD”.

The organizer is the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly.

The event took place at the RK Khanna tennis stadium.

Moderators: Elmira Shcherbakova - Deputy Head of the General Secretariat, Chairman of the Council for Intercultural Cooperation of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, and Dalbir Singh - Member of the Supreme Advisory Council of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly, Vice President of the Indian Tennis Association.

The main objectives of the Round Table were the discussion and exchange of experience in the development of national and non-Olympic sports, as well as the discussion and planning of joint events.

In the modern context of the formation of a multipolar world, the issue of the unifying role of sports and new formats of international multisport competitions becomes more and more relevant every year.

Representatives of sports federations and public organizations representing national and non-Olympic sports of the Republic of India took part in the event.

Welcoming remarks were made by PT Usha, Member of Parliament and President of the Indian Olympic Association. The modern role of sport in the development of international relations was discussed by: Ilya Lomako - Director General of the ANO "Directorate of Sports and Social Projects and Programs "EURASIADA"; Igor Pavlyuk - Advisor to the President of the Committee of National and Non-Olympic Sports of Russia; Randir Singh - Honorary Member of the Executive Committee and Secretary General of the Indian Olympic Association, and other representatives of the sports community in India, Russia and Kyrgyzstan.

As a result of the discussion, all participants of the Round Table concluded about the importance of strengthening the global partnership in order to organize and conduct competitions, conduct the games of the Eurasian continent "EURASIADA", as well as the importance of exchanging experience in the development of national sports in order to unite the Eurasian peoples.
