From December 1 to December 5, 2022, a new project the International Festival "Theatrical Eurasia" was presented in Kazakhstan, in the cities of Kokshetau, Astana, Karaganda. The project involves a wide coverage of the audience and the restoration of the unity of the cultural space of Eurasia.
"Theatrical Eurasia" began a very important and necessary today creative exchange between peoples and countries. The project is carried out under the auspices of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly.
Deputy Head of the General Secretariat, Chairman of the Council for International Cultural Cooperation of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, President of the Peace and Harmony Social Initiatives Foundation Elmira Shcherbakova, as the main initiator and organizer of the festival, said:
“It is a blessing that we show live performances, and it is especially joyful that we bring the power of art to capitals and small towns.”
Spectators of three cities very warmly welcomed the "London Triangle" performance of the Moscow theater "School of the modern play". The opening of the festival and all the screenings were accompanied by invariable full houses.
According to the festival program, on December 2, 2022, a creative meeting was held with the actors of the Moscow Theater "School of the Modern Play" People's Artist of Russia Alexander Galibin and Honored Artist of Russia Vadim Kolganov. Students of creative universities and actors of the leading theaters of Astana were invited to the meeting. The participants exchanged their views on what the theater should be in the 21st century. People's Artist of Russia Alexander Galibin spoke about what is happening in Russia in the theatrical movement. Trends in the development of modern theatrical art were in the focus of attention of the participants of the meeting. It is very important that a dialogue took place - an honest, open, professional conversation. The power of the acting brotherhood, about which the Honored Artist of Russia Vadim Kolganov spoke, has again become unifying.
The participants of the meeting expressed concern that they would like to establish a system for the exchange of directors, conduct master classes, and acquaint each other with various trends in the theater. A proposal was made to consider the possibility of a correspondence course at GITIS for applicants from Kazakhstan.
In this difficult time, the organizers of the International Festival "Theatrical Eurasia" are convinced that culture and art unite peoples, promote mutual understanding and spiritual enrichment.
It is assumed that the new festival will be held in a hybrid format: offline and online. The priority goal of the "Theatrical Eurasia" festival is to invite performances with clearly traced humanistic theatrical traditions. It is fundamentally important for the organizers of the festival to work on cultural decentralization, what means giving an equal opportunity to familiarize residents of not only regional capitals, but also small towns with world masterpieces. The festival will be held in Kazakhstan for two years.
The International Festival "Theatrical Eurasia" expresses gratitude for holding this event to the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, the Russian Embassy in Kazakhstan, the Peace and Harmony and Cultural Seasons Foundations, the Russian House in Astana, the Moscow Theater "School of the Modern Play" and especially Akmola Russian theater.
