International Business Forum in Egypt: Panel Session "Sustainable Development of Tourism and Hospitality Industry in Modern Conditions"

Within the Days of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly in the Arab Republic of Egypt, on February 1, the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly held a Panel Session "Sustainable development of tourism and the hospitality industry in modern conditions" at the International Business Forum "Prospects for business cooperation in the Eurasian space".

The Panel Session was attended by representatives of industry associations, professional associations in tourism and hospitality, state and municipal authorities, scientific and educational institutions, heads of specialized travel agencies and specialists in tourism and hospitality.

The Panel Session is aimed at sharing best practices of sustainable tourism development in various countries of the world, searching for joint solutions using scientific approaches.

As part of the discussion, experts discussed changes in consumer preferences, the transformation of the tourism business, support for national tourism products, international and national experience and standards for the sustainable development of tourism and the hospitality industry.

The work of the Panel Session was opened by the Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly Andrey Belyaninov. His speech was devoted to the importance of the tourism industry in the modern world and its positive impact on the economy and society. Andrei Belyaninov noted that tourism not only provides additional investment in the economy, but also plays an important role in reducing unemployment. By creating jobs, the tourism industry helps fight poverty and improve people's living standards. In addition, the tourism sector contributes to the development of infrastructure, which includes transport, communications and other amenities.

“We consider the priority areas for the development of tourism to be the development of folk crafts, the cluster approach, the development of recreational areas, human potential as the basis of tourism service,” said Anvar Yakubi, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Sughd Region of the Republic of Tajikistan in his speech.

He invited Panel Session participants to join the IX Trade and Investment Forum in Uzbekistan on June 22-24, 2023.

Vice-President of the Russian-Peruvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Vice-Rector for International Relations of S. Bolivar State Technological University Luis Molina Almanza described sustainable tourism as a harmonious combination of ecology, local culture and human impact. Luis Molina Almanza proposed holding the Days of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly in Peru.

The participants of the Panel Session "Sustainable development of tourism and hospitality industry in modern conditions" came to the general conclusion that tourism and the hospitality industry, having a multiplier effect, are important tools for the socio-economic development of territories, make a significant contribution to the growth of the welfare of the local population, the creation new jobs, creating favorable conditions for doing business, as well as increasing budget revenues. Tourism contributes to the formation of economic and cultural ties between peoples and states, contributes to the stability of international relations.
