First Meeting of the "Meetings on Uspensky" Dialogue Platform

On March 28, the first meeting of the dialogue platform "Meetings on Uspensky" was held at the headquarters of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly in Moscow (Russia).

The project is organized by the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly and its partner holding "Regions of Russia".

As Andrey Belyaninov, Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly noted, the initiative to create such a club format was taken by the "Regions of Russia" team. The head of the holding, Olga Chernokoz, thanked him for supporting the project and providing the site, noting that “the holding team has been nurturing the idea of creating an interregional site for a long time, but now an international track has been added to it.”

The first topic of the expert platform was Russian-Chinese relations, timed to coincide with the recent visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to the Russian capital. Expert sinologists, representatives of state bodies, Russian regions, educational institutions and the media were involved in the discussion.

The meeting focused on summing up the results of the meeting between Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin in Moscow, the issues of World War II and UN centrality, and the views of both countries. Aspects of public diplomacy and the preservation of historical memory and intergenerational solidarity were also touched upon.

The discussion was moderated by the Deputy Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, President of the Eurasian Academy of Television and Radio Valery Ruzin.
