The Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly Signed an Agreement with the International Assembly of Capitals and Major Cities

On March 12, at the Moscow House of Nationalities, the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly and the International Assembly of Capitals and Major Cities entered into a cooperation agreement.

Andrei Belyaninov, Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly, and Vladimir Selivanov, Executive Director of the International Assembly of Capitals and Major Cities signed the document.

The agreement envisages cooperation between the parties in the field of trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural development and cooperation of cities, regions and countries.

Andrey Belyaninov noted the importance of starting cooperation in the year of the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory and expressed confidence that together the organizations would be able to do even more in the field of preserving the historical memory of the Second World War and the Great Patriotic War.

In accordance with the Charter, the International Union of Non-Governmental Organizations the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly is a corporate non-profit organization established to form an integration model of a large Eurasian partnership at the public level, expanding and deepening contacts between peoples in addition to the development of political interaction, transport, logistics, trade and financial ties of the Eurasian countries. Public non-profit association the International Assembly of Capitals and Major Cities was created on September 3, 1998 by executive authorities of 7 capitals and 19 major cities of nine CIS countries to organize joint actions for the socio-economic development of cities. Today, 87 cities from nine CIS countries are represented at the International Assembly of Capitals and Major Cities: Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, and Ukraine.
