Eurasian Peoples' Assembly prepares a Continuation of the Project «World Weddings»

Denis Knyazev, a photo artist, author of the project “Weddings of the Nations of the World: World Cultural Heritage”, together with the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, prepares a continuation of the project about a traditional Nenets wedding.

On November 10, Chairman of the Public Council of the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation, a member of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation from the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Grigory Ledkov and First Deputy Secretary General - Head of the General Secretariat of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly Svetlana Smirnova held an online meeting as part of the project.

About the Project

“Weddings of the Nations of the World: World Cultural Heritage” is an international research ethnographic project created in 2015 to preserve the wedding traditions of the peoples of the world as a monument of international cultural heritage. Based on the results of reconstructions of weddings of different nations and photographing, a book is being published about the wedding traditions of the selected region. The author organizes a presentation of the book in a particular country and at the UN headquarters. The project has been approved by UNESCO, the ministries of culture of a number of countries and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
