The Eurasian Peoples' Assembly opened a Representative Office in the Republic of Altai

On April 11, 2023, the Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly Andrey Belyaninov held a working meeting with the Head of the Altai Republic, Chairman of the Government of the Altai Republic Oleg Khorokhordin.

The meeting was also attended by the First Deputy Secretary General - Head of the General Secretariat of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly Svetlana Smirnova, Deputy Prime Minister of the Altai Republic, Plenipotentiary Representative of the Altai Republic in Moscow Irina Lozovaya, Adviser to the Head of the Altai Republic on International Relations and the Altai Language, member of the General Council of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly Ivan Belekov, Deputy Head of the General Secretariat of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly Marina Plyasunova.

The parties discussed the expansion of humanitarian cooperation in the Eurasian space.

Andrei Belyaninov noted the special role of Altai as the cradle of all the Turkic peoples of the world in Eurasian integration. According to him, in many projects of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, which unites representatives of non-governmental organizations from more than 50 countries of the world, the Republic of Altai is given a special role.

Oleg Khorokhordin said that last year at the International Conference "Altai Vector of Eurasian Integration" a permanent international Altai Forum was established, also, an agreement on interaction between the government of the Republic of Altai and the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly was signed. This year the forum will be held on June 23 in Gorno-Altaisk.

The Eurasian Peoples' Assembly opens a Representative Office in the Republic of Altai. It will be headed by Ivan Belekov, a member of the General Council, adviser to the head of the region on international relations and the Altai language. This Representation will help to further strengthen the close cooperation of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly with the Altai Republic.
