The Eurasian Peoples' Assembly attended the NGO Courses of the Gorchakov Fund

February 9 to 12, the Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund hosted courses for non-profit organizations with a foreign policy orientation. The courses’ purpose was to familiarize representatives of Russian and foreign non-profit organizations with the principles, methods and possibilities for implementing international projects.

About 30 leaders and project managers of NGOs from 14 countries participated in the course: Armenia, Belarus, Germany, Italy, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Russia, Romania, Serbia, Uganda, Uzbekistan and Ukraine.

The program covered such topics as the role of public diplomacy and "soft power" in Russia's foreign policy, the role and experience of NGOs in supporting the Russian foreign policy, priorities for the development of the non-profit sector in Russia, interaction with the Gorchakov Fund in the process of implementing grant activities.

The speakers were representatives of partner organizations and departments of the Gorchakov Fund  - Chairman of the Council of Young Diplomats of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Konstantin Kolpakov, Deputy Head of Rossotrudnichestvo Dmitry Polikanov, Chairman of the National Youth Council of Russia Grigory Petushkov, President of the Center for Support and Development of Public Initiatives "Creative Diplomacy" Natalya Burlinova, head of the department of international activities of Rosmolodezh Valeria Chernogorodova, press secretary of the Russkiy Mir Foundation Maria Makhovikova.

The Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly expresses its gratitude to the Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund for the opportunity to take part and for the successful organization of such a dialogue platform that will give impetus to the comprehensive development of cooperation between Russian and foreign NGOs.
